Residence and work through social arraigo

For people who have lived in Spain continuously for at least two years and can demonstrate their social integration or their family ties in the country. It can be applied for in two ways: through ties with family members who are legal residents in Spain, or with an integration report issued by the regional government.

Through family ties

With a registered partner, spouse, parents or children who are legal residents, provided that sufficient income is proven between the two according to the applicable legal threshold (one amount for the applicant and another for the family member), regardless of how many people live in the household.

Through an integration report

Without family members who are legal residents, with a favourable social integration report, which assesses participation in society, training, knowledge of the language and compliance with the rules of coexistence. The person applies for it from the regional government, which must issue it within one month at most.

Requirements

  • No criminal record in Spain or in the country of origin.
  • Not being an applicant for international protection at the time of the application.

It allows you to work legally, access healthcare, register with the municipality and progress towards long-term residence or Spanish citizenship.
